Aim

The firm EMI Wanda Pazdan has been registered in February 2007 in the business activities register of the President of Opole under the number 37043. The name has been changed in December 2008. EMI is the short name of company. Our primary objective is to do things in the benefit and to satisfaction of others rather than being focused on making big profits. However, the company has to be profitable therefore its cost - effectiveness is deemed necessary.

Origins

Wanda Pazdan is an international environment protection consultant and manager, co-creator of the ATMOTERM S.A. company. Her conviction about the high value of sustainable development stems from her long-standing interests in sustainable development issues, as well as in philosophy and psychology. The company, with short name EMI, it is a contunuation of EMI sp. z o.o. (Instytut Zarządzania Informacjami Środowiskowymi EMI, Environmental Management Institute) activity, which was legally closed in 2007.

Now the short name EMI means: E - E3: environment, economy, equity, M - music, and I - international.

Mission and music

Combining the activities of impresario with sustainable development is not coincidental. According to Stefan Żeromski “Music is a breach through which human soul, like a prisoner, frees itself from a prison. Music is the daughter of all Muses.” Frederic Chopin said: “The strangest of all people is a genius who lives so much in the future, that the people of his time can not catch up with him. And nobody knows which generation will be capable of understanding him. A genius has a big nose and sharp smell with which he senses the future wind of changes…”

While talking about sustainable development, one thinks about strategy. Students of military academies in the Far East are trained to listen to classical music. This is to wake up the imagination of future strategists. As Einstein said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge…”

Mission and management of sustainable development

The Constitution of the Republic of Poland, the European Union Strategy of Sustainable Development and other provisions are the legal basis for implementation of the concept of sustainable development. The company mission is to support its implementation. It means to support individuals, managers and authorities of all levels in their efforts to draw up, accept, implement and manage sustainable development strategy. Even the best strategy, if not backed up by awareness and emotional readiness of individuals and the whole society, is not going to bring expected results. Therefore our activities are closely linked with emotions and imagination. Our offer is addressed to managers, engineers, scientists, politicians, artists, to youth and to people young at heart. The aim is to work out a common vision on sustainable development and legal mechanisms that would allow implementation and stimulation of such development.

The firm organizes trainings for managers as well as for others. These trainings are aimed to promot the knowledge on sustainable development, in particular on issues that are crucial for it’s management process: legal basis, international and local tendencies, links between business and society. Moreover, the trainings are focused on working on practical tools that are necessary for management of sustainable development.
